Learning to go with the flow and relinquishing some control can make the transition into early parenting so much easier. Even though we might like schedules and routines to live our lives by, babies in the first few weeks move within their own unique rhythms.

Surrendering to this fact, going with the flow and learning from your baby's cues can make such a difference to new mums and dads. The key to success is adjusting and/or letting go of preconceived expectations. We suggest that the first few weeks should be all about getting to know your baby. Delegate to friends and family any important errands or life admin so you can enjoy this precious time of bonding.
