Advice from Health Professional – Midwife, Catina Adams

We love Catina Adams advice on what partners can do to help a woman feel good in Labour. Love definitely counts for so much when it comes to birth. A partner that can express their love and support through touch, words and their energy makes an enormous difference to the birthing woman. Oxytocin, the hormone of love is released when a woman feels loved and safe and this is the hormone that creates contractions and helps move the birth along. So if a woman is feeling all loved up, often she will relax and her hormones will flow, making for a smoother birth. So if partners have no idea what to do in labour, then just love the birthing woman. There is a cheeky saying " the way you make the baby, is the way the baby comes out" so use your loving support to make this a great experience for both of you. #aboutbirthonline #pregnancy #birtheducation #Midwifeadvice #catinadams
